Do you remember the last time you had a long weekend?
One of those rare three-day stretches where you finally felt like you could breathe. You slowed down, relaxed a little, and caught a glimpse of what life might feel like if it wasn’t consumed by work.
Now imagine if that wasn’t an exception.
Imagine if that was your normal.
That became my reality.
There was a time when I was constantly exhausted. I was overwhelmed, trying to juggle work, life, and the guilt of wanting to spend more time with my kiddo while feeling like I simply couldn’t. And doing something just for me? That felt completely out of reach.
Then one day, one of my teachers in hypnotherapy training casually mentioned that he worked only three days a week.
The moment he said it, something clicked.
I didn’t think, *”That would be nice.”*
I thought, *”That’s what I want to create.”*
Not just more money.
Not just a better business.
A better life.
I wanted to make over $100,000 a year working three short days a week. I wanted to pick my daughter up from school. I wanted to love my work instead of constantly recovering from it.
That vision became my blueprint.
The first thing I realized was that my biggest obstacle wasn’t my circumstances.
It was my thinking.
I had to clear the beliefs that were keeping me attached to the life I wanted to leave behind.
Beliefs like:
*It’s not possible for single moms to get ahead.*
*I was born to struggle.*
*No one will pay me what I’m worth.*
*I don’t have anything valuable to offer.*
*I’m a failure.*
Those beliefs didn’t disappear overnight. I cleared them layer by layer, because every new level required a new version of me.
At the same time, I got serious about my finances.
I learned exactly where every dollar was going. I switched to a cash envelope system, started saving, and built a financial cushion. Looking back, I recommend saving even more than I did because having that safety net makes the journey much gentler on your nervous system.
While I was still working my regular job, I started seeing hypnotherapy clients on evenings and weekends.
I already knew what I wanted to do, so instead of chasing every opportunity, I focused on becoming better at helping people.
I opened my private practice charging $25 an hour.
At the time, even that felt like too much.
Over the next three years, I continued clearing limiting beliefs, improving my skills, and gradually raising my rates.
Eventually I reached a tipping point.
After about a year, I was earning the same amount in my private practice working one or two days a week as I was making in my full-time job.
That gave me the confidence to leave my full-time position and take a part-time job that covered my basic expenses while I continued growing my business.
Two years later, I quit my final job.
From that point on, I worked only for myself.
Over time, I continued raising my prices, created group programs, shortened my workdays, blocked out Mondays, and eventually Fridays too.
Little by little, the life I had imagined became the life I was living.
Today, my schedule looks very different from the one I used to believe was necessary.
And perhaps the greatest surprise of all?
My quality of life didn’t suffer.
It consistently improved.
I know that if you’re reading this, you may wish you were already at the finish line.
I understand that feeling.
When you can see the life you want, it’s frustrating when it takes longer than you’d like to build it.
But I can tell you this with absolute certainty:
Creating a plan for a life you genuinely love—and then watching yourself slowly build it—is one of the most rewarding experiences you’ll ever have.
I did it.
Dozens of my clients have done it.
And if this dream is sitting on your heart, you can too.
So don’t start by trying to recreate someone else’s life.
Start by designing your own.
Ask yourself one simple question:
**If I could create the life I truly wanted, what would it actually look like?**
That’s where everything begins.
